Labor day is upon us and it won’t be long till Black Friday (the day after Thanksgiving) will be here. Saving money is worth the Black Friday nightmare. However, in this day and age it isn’t necessary. You can find lots of great deals that you can get over the Internet in your pajamas right here at Black Friday’s walmart ad.

The Characters in My Life

Filed under: The Boring Recount of My Dull Life — Aiden @ 2:52 pm

I have a lot of people in my life that mean a lot of things to me. It isn’t always easy to figure out what to say for others to get a glimpse into who they are in relation to me. But I will give it a bit of a shot.

Peter-Peter became my husband September 23, 2005. He is a wonderful guy who makes me feel cherished. He writes under the name Falon when he gets a chance and links to his stuff is here as well.

Marcus-Our first born arrived on July 20, 2006. He is a joy, most of the time and a beautiful little boy.

Mom-My mom and I have had our differences and I don’t think we do well living together. It doesn’t change the fact that she still means a lot to me. Others call her Terri though.

Joel-I have two brothers. The youngest of which lived with our mom and I all of his life and we got really close. College was hard on our relationship and while I still miss him terribly, we just aren’t as close as we once were.

Neal-My other brother, Neal, lived with our dad most of the time, but I still love him. While we don’t talk much it still means a lot to me when we do.

Tanya-My best friend in high school and I still keep in touch. Life has brought us farther then we ever imagined.

Cory-Cory is a great guy who I enjoy keeping in touch with. He is also a friend from high school days.

Regina-My one college friend who I work hard to keep in touch with Regina is a very special young woman who I don’t know what I would have done without her.

Peter’s Family-While I never imagined feeling like I belong to Peter’s family it is true that I feel that way now. Those that live in Texas have been wonderful to us in so many ways (not that his brother, Sam and Sam’s wife Naomi aren’t great as well, I just don’t know them well). The whole bunch include Mom and Dad (Marianne and Jerry), Isaac, Rebekah, Susanna, Levi, AnnaLeah, Caleb, and Mary.

Other’s have certainly touched my life, but I am one that has a hard time keeping touch with everyone. These are those who I talk to most often, though not in that order since I talk to Marcus more then Peter (Peter works 60+ hours a week and Marcus and I are home alone a lot), and I talk to Peter’s family, who live about two miles away, more then any of my friends or family who live in Michigan (about 1200 miles away).

The Phone

Filed under: The Boring Recount of My Dull Life — Aiden @ 2:39 pm

I don’t talk on the phone often and don’t have a lot of people that I do talk to. However, it seems then when I get around to talking on the phone it is always for a long period of time. Like today. I talked on the phone for an hour and a half. That is a long time.

I was talking to my mom who I haven’t been able to talk to much lately, and I was glad to talk to her. However, after talking to her I had to call my brother and then my grandma. Now that I am done being on the phone I have a huge pile of work that I need to get done before calling it a day.

I guess I wouldn’t trade it for anything and Tuesdays is one of the best days to be on the phone for an extended period of time. After all, Marcus goes to his grandparent’s house on Tuesdays. This means I don’t have to worry about him getting in the way, being troublesome or anything like that. Plus no one wants to talk to him while he isn’t here!

Dreaming

Filed under: Sponsored Posts — Aiden @ 4:14 pm

We drive a 1989 Nissan. It isn’t anything really fancy to look at and it isn’t comfortable. However, it fits our current budget. Lately we have been doing a lot of dreaming of a budget that is much larger then our current one to see where life can take us. In those dreams we have much nicer and “cooler” cars such as the Porsche Direct Injection. These cars are lovely in a wide range of ways and it is fun to dream a little. It will be hard to tell where the future will take us and whether or not a Porsche or other beautiful dream car is in our future or not only time will tell. Till then, it is fun to dream.

Michigan Born

Filed under: The Boring Recount of My Dull Life — Aiden @ 4:04 pm

I was born in the northern portion of the lower peninsula in the state of Michigan found in the midwest portions of the United States. Located in that location are a number of small cities and towns, mine was called Cadillac and had a population of 10-12 thousand as I grew up. It was an hour south of Traverse City and an hour and a half north of Grand Rapids.

There I had a good life, leaving the area for only short periods of time. With a little time in Detroit and a short visit to Iowa that was where I lived till I went to college in central Michigan.

Moving from Mt. Pleasant (in central Michigan) to Grand Rapids wasn’t a huge change. But from there my husband and I moved to Wisconsin and from there to Texas. We have lived in Texas now for just over a year. The thing we miss the most is the trees. Real trees with lots of green and woods to walk in and shade to sit under.

We probably won’t stay here forever, after all, there are other places to go. But this Michigan born girl is now living in Texas. The more interesting fact is that our son is just over two and he has lived in three different states, made a huge number of trips traveling from Wisconsin to Michigan and back again, and then there is a bus trip from Wisconsin to Texas. His trips will continue in a 12 passenger van in the coming days as 11 of us travel from Texas to Michigan, with planned stops in Missouri, Indian (where we will visit more then a hotel), Michigan, travel across Lake Michigan in a ferry to Wisconsin, go for dinner there, go to a wedding the next day, and then head to Illinois before making our way back again and of course stopping for the night in Missouri.

If we are still sane when it is said and done I will let you know!

Changes

Filed under: The Boring Recount of My Dull Life — Aiden @ 3:56 pm

There will be more and more changes happening in the next few weeks. I will be working hard to make this site into something more. It will take some time, but I feel that it is worth it. The first change is one that few people like…I have started doing sponsored posts on here. This is because the blogs have very little money making options right now and this is a quick and easy way to help me make enough money to continue doing the things that I love doing.

Soon the site will be formated and other ad types will be added. Over time I would like to see this site grow into something huge as well as to use it to share all the other things that I am up to. It was originally started so that I had a place to send people and share with them what all I have been doing online.

I am hoping to come up with a wide range of options, though in the near future you will be seeing a lot of posts that are related to our trip (we will be traveling from Texas to Michigan and back again from August 30th to September 8th). Anyway…I hope to see you around.

Birthdays

Filed under: The Boring Recount of My Dull Life — Aiden @ 8:44 am

I have done some thinking about birthdays past. Good and bad they have definitely evolved. My youngest of birthday’s I don’t remember.

My seventh birthday was a lot of fun for me. My mom did a treasure hunt and at each leg of the treasure hunt was a gift. There was even a pair of pants in the freezer! It was a lot of fun and I enjoyed it a lot.

My ninth birthday was horrible. My dad had shown up at our house out in the middle of no where with gifts for Joel (my youngest brother) that year. He had promised to come back for my birthday a month later. My birthday came and went without him. It broke my little heart.

When I was 12 my mom held the only birthday party I remember. Joel and I did our birthdays together…I think. We each had our closest friend and the birthday included a treasure hunt for all of us, and Neal (my younger brother) came. It was a lot of fun and totally unforgettable.

Sixteen was another memorable birthday. I started school that day and my mom came and got me out of fourth period right before lunch. She sent the message girl from the office with a yellow rose and took me out for lunch. It was special and the day was only tarnished with the fact that my dad didn’t call or send a card.

My 20th birthday was extremely dull. It was the third day of my new life in the college dorms. Very few people knew it was my birthday and I didn’t get any gifts.

Since I met my husbands family I have had a birthday celebration with his family every year we were within visiting range. There are a ton of birthday’s in August with four of them being at the end of August. We do a joint party and it is the only gifts that I get. That seems a touch greedy and maybe it is…We haven’t had the money on my birthday to buy birthday gifts for one another. Additionally, my family hasn’t given me gifts since I left home (even last year when my mom lived with us). Oh well… such as life.

Another day, and almost another year.

Frustrated

Filed under: The Boring Recount of My Dull Life — Aiden @ 8:35 am

I am feeling a tad bit frustrated this morning. I joined the Blog Catelog way back in August of last year. After that, I stopped adding my blogs to it or updating the information. Suddenly I came across it and decided that I would begin the work necessary to market my blogs. The marketing aspect of work on the Internet is the part that I don’t particularly like. So, I went through and added all my blogs, most of which were denied. The frustrating part is that I don’t know why they were denied. There is a huge list of possibilities and it doesn’t seem that my blogs would fit into any of the reasons for being denied. Plus, the ones that were accepted are the ones that I thought would be denied according to the list (they have been around awhile, but not well maintained and contain only a few posts).

So, it is a morning of frustrations as I try hard to do what is best for my blogs and their future without completely understanding what I am doing and how I should be doing it. I hate marketing! It seems much easier if just writing was all it took for a lot of great articles, blogs, and of course the money necessary to make a living. I am not greedy, but we do need to make a living.

Anyway, good morning and the best of sunshine to you!

Growth

Filed under: The Boring Recount of My Dull Life — Aiden @ 12:43 am

I have a lot of hopes and dreams for this blog as well as for others that I am doing. I am hoping to see these blogs become important to some people out there. I don’t need a huge readership to feel good about what I am doing, but a small one would be nice.

This blog will share with the world my personal life, personal feelings, goals, and dreams as well as provide a hub for sharing all of the work that I am busy doing. I write for so many sites and blogs these days that a single address is necessary for keeping up with all that I am doing and all that I hope to do.

This of course is only a beginning and I certainly am hoping to see the world become a larger place for me and that my name will become familiar with a few people out there in the world. Maybe I am just a hopeless dreamer. Of course, only time will tell.

For now, I am headed off to bed since it is 12:42 am and I am tired. I have about four hours before my husband will wake me up to say good bye and about six hours before my son will be up for the day…

Till tomorrow,

Danelle-Aiden of the Tower
